"Communication leads to
community, that is, to understanding, intimacy and mutual
valuing." - Rollo May (American Psychologist)
The ability to communicate well has
been consistently listed by employers as the NUMBER ONE
skill they are searching for in new employees. TCC's
Speech & Drama department will help you develop
your communication skills, making you a more suitable and
riveting applicant for potential employers. |
At the Norfolk Campus,
TCC's communication courses include:
Each of these courses encourages mastery of a different aspect of communication. From
talking one-on-one with family members or friends to presenting
information in front of large groups, TCC's courses will help
improve your ability to communicate. Our instructors are supportive,
understanding that certain aspects of communication (especially
public speaking!) can be difficult for some students.
For your convenience, classes are offered
days, nights, and weekends. Many courses are also offered online
as well. SPD 100 and 105 are directly transferable to most four-year
institutions. SPD 126, 200 and 229 can usually be transferred
as an elective.
