Lighthouse Pictures

CANstruction 1998

Here are some photos taken during the competition at the Virginia Marine Science Museum.
The lighthouse was modeled after the Hatteras Light House with diagonal striping and an octagonal base.
It also featured a rotating beacon (which looked great through bottled water that acted as a "Fresnel lens."
It also featured a foghorn which consisted of a boat horn powered by a 12V air compressor.
The fog horn was so loud that the museum personnel called us in a few days and asked us to disconnect it!
The 14 foot tall "Cape TCC Lighthouse" lighthouse is situated in a hallway with 20 foot ceilings and a bay window overlooking the water. The lighthouse and a few team members.
