LPNs may be awarded advanced placement into the College’s Nursing Program by successful completion of a standardized nursing test and a college-developed “pharmacology calculation of dosage” test. Upon successful passing of these tests, students are exempt from the first semester nursing curricular courses and are awarded credit for this course. Students must pay a non-refundable fee to take the standardized test.

Qualifications for advanced placement include the following:

  1. Employment for one year in an acute health care facility during the past three years.
  2. Original copy of completed pre-admission health record on file in the College’s Nursing Program office.
  3. Validation of the Virginia LPN license by the Nursing Program Head or designee.
