Math Essentials Lab

Struggling in math? Maybe it’s time for you to add a visit to the Portsmouth Campus MTE Lab to your schedule.
The goal of the MTE Lab is to offer students a quiet place to complete their computer based math assignments and to seek help when needed. Lab staff members are available to assist students in understanding mathematical principals taught in MTE courses.
No food or drink allowed in the lab
No children or guests allowed in the lab
Noise must be kept to a minimum
Cell phones must be turned off or put on silent and put away
Cell phones and other electronic devices will not be used as calculators
If you need a calculator you may check one out from the lab staff
MTE 1 students cannot use calculators, MTE 2 and MTE 3 students can use them on quiz 3, MTE 4 – 9 can use
calculators. (Scientific calculators only)
Computers are for math purposes only; no web surfing
Sign-in/sign-out of the lab at each visit (Student ID Number required)
At exam time, only students who are on or past quiz 2 will be permitted in the lab
Students who are caught cheating will be asked to leave the lab and their instructor will be notified
For students to receive more attempts on a quiz they must get 100% on the quiz review.
Student must have “signed in” to the lab
Proctor must ensure desk is clear of all materials except pencil, blank paper, and calculator.
Students must show a picture ID to be signed in for quizzes and tests.
III. HOURS OF OPERATION:
Monday: 9AM – 7PM
Tuesday: 9AM – 7PM
Wednesday: 9AM – 7PM
Thursday: 9AM – 7PM
Friday: 9AM – 3PM
Saturday: 10AM – 2PM
