How to Apply to the NNSY Apprentice Program

1. Attend NNSY Apprentice Program Information Session

2. Review the NNSY Apprentice Program eligibility requirements.

3. If not already a TCC student, apply to TCC. Review the FAQ.

4. Follow the procedure to apply online at www.usajobs.gov

NNSY Apprentice Program Eligibility Requirements

• United States citizenship
• High school graduate or GED equivalent
• Meet security and medical requirements
• Sign apprentice agreement that specifies academic and trade course requirements to complete program
• Able to attend classes during working hours and provide own transportation to TCC campus
• Current enrollment at TCC or apply for admission
• College placement test to evaluate reading, writing and math skills (may only be taken once per semester so advance preparation is recommended)  View practice test online.
• TCC placement test must be dated between November 9, 2011 and application date to qualify. Test scores or prior academic coursework completed before or after these dates will not be considered.

NOTE:  You must obtain a printed copy of your test to submit with your job application.

• Applicants must apply online at www.usajobs.gov web site
• Locate announcement using "Search for Jobs" feature by typing "apprentice" in the key word block and "Portsmouth, VA" in location & then click on the Search  button to locate.
• After locating announcement, click on announcement number and read "How to Apply" paragraph. You must login to https://applicationmanager.gov to build your account. You will need the Vacancy Identification Number (VIN) XXXXX. 
• Your resume must be submitted electronically by downloading to the job announcement by closing date.
• Confirmation to acknowledge receipt of your application will be sent to the e-mail address you provided.
