Giving Opportunities

Annual Giving

Any gift to TCC has a powerful impact on the lives and futures of our students. Over the years, large, generous gifts have enabled great leaps forward for TCC. But annual gifts (year-by-year commitments to give on a regular basis) make an impact here and now. Annual gifts both large and small make a daily difference by offesetting the operational costs and routine expenses of the college.

By designating your gift pledge to the Opportunity Fund, your gift has even greater potential. Even a modest gift to this unrestricted fund becomes part of an invaluable funding base that gives TCC the resources to meet urgent needs of the College and the student body quickly.

Corporate and Foundation Gifts

TCC is fortunate to have investors from local and regional corporations, community organizations, and charitable foundations who recognize the value of higher education to the future of our region.

Programs developed in cooperation with generous local businesses bolster our course offerings with valuable programs that prepare students for the real-world workforce. Our Regional Automotive Center exists in part because of the generosity of Hampton Roads auto dealers, and many of our workforce development programs benefit from the assistance of the organizations that will one day employ the students we educate today.

Capital Gifts and Endowments

Capital gifts support new construction, major renovations, and facility improvements, while endowments help to create an secure the logetivity of academic programs and scholarship support.

Projects that expand and improve our campuses place TCC in a position to provide the best educational experience possible for our students. Past capital gifts and endowments have made possible the new Beazley School of Nursing, supported campus-wide technology and program upgrades, and endowed valuable scholarships that will continue to support TCC students and programs for years to come.

Gifts-in-Kind

Non-cash gifts of supplies, equipment, or other tangible assets are gratefully received in support of college and student needs.

Gifts-in-kind can be donations of supplies for student use, mechanical or computer equipment for hands-on study, or furniture, equipment, or physical assets for use by the college. Gift-in-kind donations have a powerful impact on the Computers for Student Success program, in which technology students and staff refurbish your donated equipment to distribute to TCC students who would not otherwise have access to a home computer. To date, over 1300 computers have been distributed to students in need.

Matching Gifts

TCC gratefully accepts gifts that are matched by your employer, doubling the impact of your generosity.

Many companies offer matching gift programs, matching charitable contributions made by their employees. We have provided a list of companies that offer matching gift programs, but you will need to contact your human resources department for details about to understand your company's matching gift policy. Contact our office at 757.822.1080 or development@tcc.edu to understand more about this powerful way of giving.
