Grade Point Average
Computing Your Grade Point Average
To determine your semester grade point average, multiply the number
of credits for a class by the number of points awarded
for the grade received. Then divide the total number of grade
points earned that semester by the number of credits attempted
that semester. Credits that do not generate grade points, such as
credits for developmental courses, are not included in the calculation
of credits attempted. The cumulative grade point average is
determined by dividing the total number of grade points earned in
all courses by the total number of credits attempted.
A = 4 points Excellent
B = 3 points Good
C = 2 points Average
D = 1 point Poor
F = 0 points Failure
Developmental credits are NOT included in GPA computation.
You do not receive grade points for grades of P, R, S, U,
or for grades of W (withdrawal), I (incomplete), or X (audit).
For more information on GPA, consult Academic Regulations in the TCC
Student Handbook or an academic
advisor or counselor.
