Searching the Virginian-Pilot in Factiva LRC@TCC
To access the Virginian Pilot using the Factiva database:
- From
the LRC home page, on the tan sidebar under Databases of article
click on "subject list".
- Under Favorites click on Factiva.
- Click in the “Find a Source” search
box.
- Type Virginian Pilot (or the name of your source) in the search box
and click on the > or
hit Enter.
- Click on
the ^ noted at the end of the publication: The Virginian-Pilot & the
Ledger-Star (Norfolk, Va.) to add the code to your search
box.
- The source code
rst=NFLK appears in the search box.
- Select the date limit for your search.
- To narrow and search for your specific topic, use the connector
term AND with your search words.
- Example rst=NFLK and real estate taxes

- Click on the Run Search box
for result list
- Click on the article titles or choose Modify Search to return to
the search screen where you can enter your search terms and other parameters.
