President Deborah M. DiCroce kicked off a May 3 reception welcoming Sen. Jim Webb and veterans enrolled at TCC. The event, held at the Norfolk Campus library, featured remarks from the senator, who introduced the recently implemented Post 9-11 GI Bill to help veterans cover college costs. Dr. DiCroce noted TCC’s historic distinction of serving military students and veterans, and thanked Sen. Webb for his “dogged leadership” with the bill’s passage, presenting him with TCC's photodocumentary book, Acts of Optimism.
Sen. Webb commended TCC for its service to veterans, noting its recent ranking as No. 2 in the nation for enrollment of Post 9-11 GI Bill students, the only community college among the top five institutions. Two GI Bill TCC students -
