Nov. 6, 2013 — Tidewater Community College says “Thank You” to our military, veterans and their families, and recognizes those who have sacrificed for our nation. Celebratory events will be held on TCC’s four campuses on Nov. 11, 2013.

Center for Military and Veterans Education at the Virginia Beach Campus

The Center for Military and Veterans Education (CMVE) will host two events to honor military members, veterans and their families. The appreciation events will be held in the CMVE (Kempsville Building) from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. The celebrations will include music, food, activities and tours of the CMVE.


The Chesapeake Campus will honor veterans with events from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. in the Whitehurst building, Room 2057 and outside the Pass building between 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. The celebrations include food and the midday event includes remarks by Rear Adm. Michael Groothousen, USN (RET).


The Norfolk Campus welcomes veterans and other military-related students for recognition events from noon - 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m. in the Martin Building, Room 2610. The noon event will include a panel discussion with veteran students. Both events will include food and tours of the new Veterans Affairs office in the Walker Building.


The Portsmouth Campus will host celebratory events for veterans from noon - 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. in The Forum, Room A101. The midday event features lunch and an art show with offerings from Visual Art Center students who are veterans or military related. The evening event will include patriotic cupcakes and sodas.
