Students gather on Constitution Day
Students at the Chesapeake Campus engaged in a lively discussion about the U.S. Constitution during a Constitution Day observance held on Sept. 17. Led by David Kiracofe, professor of history and an author of Thomas Jefferson: A Public Life, A Private Life, the session included plenty of questions about the upcoming presidential election and the role of the Constitution in government.
Students also reviewed interesting facts about the document and the 39 Founding Fathers who signed it on Sept. 17, 1787.
Constitution Day is an American federal observance that recognizes the adoption of the U.S. Constitution and those who have become U.S. citizens.
