HAMPTON ROADS, Va. (Sept. 25, 2013) — Alesia Davenport is the new executive director of the TCC Educational Foundation and director of development for Tidewater Community College.

Davenport brings more than 20 years of experience in advancement, most recently serving as foundation/advancement director for RVM Foundation/Pacific Retirement Services, where she represented eight nonprofit continuous care retirement communities located in Oregon, California, Washington, Wisconsin and Texas.

“We are delighted to welcome Ms. Davenport to our college,” said Edna V. Baehre-Kolovani. “Our foundation and development efforts will greatly benefit from her breadth and depth of experience of successful fundraising in various sectors, including her international work. She has already become a valued member of the executive team at TCC.”

Davenport’s experience in higher education includes leading the planned giving program at Auburn University and the development efforts at the Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center at Vanderbilt University. Davenport spent four years living in Lugano, Switzerland, where she was the vice president for advancement for Franklin College. She has also worked extensively in the healthcare industry with Bristol Myers as a pharmaceutical representative and the American Heart Association, where she was charged with building a planned and major gifts program.

Davenport holds a master’s in philanthropy and development from St. Mary’s of Minnesota, and completed her undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina in Greensboro. She is a Certified Financial Planner and recently completed the Certified Estate Planner designation.
