Led by President Deborah M. DiCroce (left), TCC celebrated its 49th commencement on Dec. 18, honoring 1,700 candidates for degrees, diplomas or certificates. University of Virginia President John T. Casteen III (right) delivered the address.

TCC President DiCroce conferred honorary degrees upon UVA President Casteen and

Meyera Oberndorf, former mayor of the City of Virginia Beach.

Student speaker Jennifer Otis, left, cited TCC faculty and staff for their critical support,

and commended the class, saying, “I see a vision of success. And it’s breathtaking.”

President DiCroce thanked Casteen and Meyera Oberndorf earlier with TCC’s Acts of Optimism book,

and gave Casteen a print by a renowned Visual Arts Center alumnus.
