CELEBRATE HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH AT TCC
SEPT. 15 – OCT. 13, 2010
National theme:“Heritage, Diversity, Integrity and Honor: The Renewed Hope of America.”
HAMPTON ROADS, Va. - (Aug. 26, 2010) - Celebrating the rich and diverse cultural traditions of Hampton Roads’ Hispanic-American community, Tidewater Community College will commemorate National Hispanic Heritage Month, Sept. 15-Oct. 13, on all four of its campuses, with a diverse schedule of speakers and cultural activities, all free of charge and open to the public.
The theme of the 2010 National Hispanic Heritage Month is: “Heritage, Diversity, Integrity and Honor: The Renewed Hope of America.
TCC’s events and activities, beginning Wednesday, Sept. 15, and running through Wednesday, Oct. 13, will pay homage to this theme by recognizing the spirit and contributions of Hispanic Americans, not only in this community, but nationwide.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Creative writing professor and translator Carolina DeRobertis, author of best-selling novel The Invisible Mountain, published in 16 countries and 12 languages, will present the college-wide keynote address followed by a reception.
