Student responsibilities: financial aid

As a student receiving financial aid at TCC, you must maintain your eligibility and understand your responsibilities:

Keep your information up to date
You must notify the Office of Financial Aid if there are any changes to your enrollment status, marital status, or name. Keep your contact information current (phone numbers, current and permanent mailing addresses) by updating them in SIS.

Use financial aid funds properly
You must ensure that all financial aid award funds are used for education-related expenses.

Meet Standards of Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)
You must achieve and maintain satisfactory academic progress in accordance with the standards set by TCC and the federal government.

Review financial aid procedures and information
You are responsible for reviewing all financial aid procedures and information contained on this web site, the college catalog, the Student Handbook, and to seek assistance to understand this information.

Understand adjustments to financial aid awards
Financial aid awards are made based on anticipated full-time enrollment. If you do not enroll full time, your aid will be adjusted accordingly after the last day to drop a class to receive a tuition refund. Refer to TCC’s Academic Calendar for specific dates.

Understand the conditions of Pell Grant awards
If you are receiving a Pell Grant award, you must be enrolled in all intended courses by the last day to drop a class to receive a tuition refund.

No adjustments (increase or decrease) will be made to your Pell Grant award if you change your enrollment after this date. If you add courses late in the semester (e.g. dynamic or second-eight week), you may be eligible for state aid or student loans, but your Pell Grant award will not be changed.

Refer to TCC’s Academic Calendar for specific dates.
