Description:
This scholarship was established by Mrs. Victoria Damiani in 1996 to support Chesapeake Campus students pursuing an international education experience. The Ad Hoc International Education Committee at the Chesapeake Campus will be responsible for defining an appropriate international experience. |
Criteria:
Completed a minimum of 12 credit hours
Continuing student (6 credit hours at time of application)

Description:
This scholarship was established through donations to the Tidewater Community College Educational Foundation. Scholarship funds should be applied to tuition, fees, and books. |

Chesapeake Martin Myrtle Accounting Scholarship |
Description:
Established by Gregory and Carolyn Satz in 2005 to support the education of TCC students with Accounting or Business career goals. Carolyn Satz teaches Accounting at the Chesapeake Campus. The scholarship funds should be applied to tuition, fees, and books. There will be two awards of $400 each per semester, spring and fall, for a total of $1,600 in one academic year. Funds may be used for summer semester, if needed. |
Criteria:
Recipient must have Accounting or Business career goals
Accounting club students are preferred, but non-members are also eligible
Must be officially enrolled as a full-time or part-time (minimum of 6 credit hours) in the Business Administration or Accounting curriculums at TCC
The recipient must be a Chesapeake Campus student
The recipient must maintain an overall cumulative GPA of 2.5 with a minimum 3.0 in Accounting
Each applicant must provide, in writing, an essay of no more than 500 words describing their career plans and goals and community involvement

Chesapeake Republican Women's Club |
Description:
This scholarship was established by the Chesapeake Republican Women's Club to support a student at TCC's Chesapeake Campus. The scholarship can be used for tuition, fees, and books. |
Criteria:
Student must be pursuing an Associate of Science degree in Social Sciences at Tidewater Community College's Chesapeake Campus.
Student must have completed or be currently enrolled in one or more history or political science courses.
Student must be a full-time student.
Student must have an overall GPA of at least 3.25.
Student must have a letter of recommendation from a current or past history or political science instructor at TCC or another institution.
Student will attend a meeting of the Chesapeake Republican Women's Club to acknowledge the club's presentation of the scholarship. |

| Chesapeake Regional Medical Center Nursing Scholarship |
Description:
Chesapeake Regional Medical Center established this scholarship in 2008 to support Nursing students at TCC and to address the shortage of qualified nurses at CRMC and around the region. The funds may be used for tuition, fees, books, and other costs associated with pursuing a Nursing degree. Three scholarships awarded annumally; up to $8,000 per student per academic year may be awarded. |
Criteria:
• Student must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Student must complete TCC Nursing Program by May 2010.
• Student must agree to enter the Chesapeake Regional Medical Center’s June 2010 Nursing Program.

CIBA Foundation Annual Scholarship |
Description:
This scholarship was established in 2009 by the CIBA Corporation/CIBA Foundation to promote science and technology and specifically to support students pursuing an education in electromechanical studies, especially recent high school graduates. The scholarship funds can be used for tuition, fees, books, and other expenses associated with pursuing an education in the aforementioned field. Recent high school graduates are highly encouraged to apply. |

Cowden/Knight Memorial Scholarship |
Description:
This scholarship was established in memory of two former TCC faculty members. Dr. Gerald Steffens Cowden, former professor of history at the Chesapeake Campus, was a dedicated teacher, accomplished scholar, and a loyal member of the campus community. Dr. Carol Lynn Knight, also a former history professor, distinguished herself as a recipient of both teaching and academic awards, including the State Council for Higher Education in Virginia (SCHEV) Outstanding Faculty Award and the Chancellor’s Commonwealth Professor Award (offered by the Virginia Community College System). The scholarship funds should be applied to tuition, fees, and books. |

Hampton Roads Automobile Dealers Association Scholarship |
Description:
This scholarship was established by the Hampton Roads Automobile Dealers Association to assist students in the Automotive Technology A.A.S. program. Funds should be used for tuition, fees, and books.

Criteria:
• Student must be pursuing an Associate of Applied Science degree in Automotive Technology and must plan on a career as an automotive technician.
• Registered as a full-time or part-time student at Tidewater Community College. Preference will be given to full-time students.
• Be a high school graduate or equivalent
• Maintain a 2.0 GPA at TCC to continue to receive the award for the second and subsequent semesters. Students having demonstrated automotive technology ability through previously successful completion of high school automotive technology class will receive preference.
•The recipient must have demonstrated need and not yet met the cost of attendance for the year.
• Enter the program with and maintain a good driving record. Student may be required to submit his or her DMV driving record.
• The recipient must agree to employment with a HRADA member if offered following graduation. This employment agreement will be on a "one-for-one" basis. For each full academic year of assistance, the recipient will agree to work for one full year for a HRADA member. In the event this recipient fails to meet this requirement or if the recipient fails to complete the requirements for the AAS degree, the recipient agrees to repay the Tidewater Community College Educational Foundation the full amount received from this award.
• The recipient is required to attend all functions related to this scholarship. |

Description:
This scholarship was established and supported by various garden clubs in the South Hampton Roads region to support students in the Horticulture Program at TCC. John Winkles Memorial Scholarship (Toyota T-TEN) |
Description:
This scholarship was established by Central Atlantic Toyota Dealers to assist students in the Toyota T-Ten Automotive program. The scholarship will cover up to full in-state tuition minus any other financial aid. Candidates will be selected by the Toyota T-Ten Scholarship Committee. |
Criteria:
• Student must be full time.
• Student must be enrolled in the T-TEN Program.
• Student must be a high school graduate, earned a GED or have a college GPA of 2.5/4.0 (C+) or better while enrolled at TCC.
• Student must have not yet met the cost of attendance; preference will be given to those who have first applied for other financial aid. If a recipient has not applied for other financial aid, the Foundation may consider disbursing the scholarship funds without such application on a case-by-case basis.
• Student must be sponsored as a T-TEN intern by a Toyota dealer, and must be reccomended for the T-TEN Scholarship by the Service Manager at the sponsoring dealership.
• Student must be recommended for the T-TEN scholarship by the T-TEN instructor at TCC.
• Student must be able to be employed in the United States.

Jonathan R. Payton Scholarship |
Description:
This scholarship was established in 2008 by Dr. Winifred Reid in memory of her son, Jonathan, who was a TCC student before he passed away in 2006. The scholarship will be awarded for students to purchase books for classes they are attending at the Chesapeake Campus of TCC. |
Criteria:
• Student must be pursuing a degree at Tidewater Community College’s Chesapeake Campus.
• Student can be a full-time or part-time student.
• Student must have not have met the cost of attendance for the year.
• If a continuing student at TCC, student must have an overall GPA of 2.7. or higher
• If a new student at TCC, student must have a high school GPA of 2.8. or higher
• Student must submit a brief paragraph describing his or her need for the scholarship, why he or she is the best candidate for the award and explaining his or her career interests and professional goals.
• Preference will be given to a student who is returning to school after a hiatus or a student who is a single parent. |

Josh Hastings Memorial Theatre Scholarship |
Description:
This scholarship was established in 2008 by the friends of Joshua Hastings. Josh was a student at the Chesapeake Campus who passed away in February 2008. The scholarship was established to honor his positive contributions to the TCC Theatre program and to recognize students who share his attributes. The scholarship funds should be used for tuition, fees, books, and other expenses associated with the Theatre program. |
Criteria:
• Student must be pursuing a career studies certificate in Performance Theatre or Technical Theatre at Tidewater Community College or be an active participant in the TCC Theatre program (verified in the required letter of recommendation)
• Student must have completed at least 6 credit hours and earned a minimum GPA of 3.0 in Theatre Arts classes.
• Student must have a minimum overall GPA of 2.0.
• Student must have successfully completed at least one full-time semester at TCC.
• Student must submit a letter of recommendation from a TCC theatre faculty member addressing the student's involvement in TCC's theatre program and the student's character and teamwork attitude.
• Graduating high school students who are planning to enroll at TCC are also eligible to receive this scholarship during their first semester at TCC. These students are required to submit a letter of recommendation from their high school theatre arts teacher and from a TCC theatre faculty member; previously listed criteria will not apply to these students. |

Description:
The Lakewood Garden Club has supported an annual scholarship for students in TCC’s Horticulture Program since 2004. The scholarship funds can be used for tuition, fees, books, and other expenses associated with the Horticulture program. |

NAPA Auto Care Annual Expendable Scholarship |
Description:
This scholarship was established in 2010 to support students in TCC’s Automotive Technology program. This scholarship will be renewed annually until the recipient completes the program, assuming the student remains eligible. |
Criteria:
• Student must be pursuing an Associate of Applied Science degree in Automotive Technology.
• Student must plan on a career as an automotive technician.
• Students entering college directly from high school must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher upon enrolling in Tidewater Community College. If the student is already enrolled at Tidewater Community College he/she must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0. or higher
• Student must be registered as a full-time or part-time student at Tidewater Community College. Preference will be given to full-time students.
• Student must be a resident of the State of Virginia.
• Student must enter the program with and maintain a good driving record. Student may be required to submit his or her DMV driving record.
• Scholarship recipients are required to attend one meeting of the NAPA Auto Care Group during the academic year(s) in which he/she is receiving the scholarship. |

Stockbridge Foundation Theatre Scholarship |
Description:
This scholarship was established by the trustees of the Stockbridge Foundation in 2004 to support the education of students in TCC's Theatre program. Scholarship funds should be applied to tuition, fees and books. |
Criteria:
Student must be pursuing a career studies certificate in Performance Theatre or Technical Theatre at TCC or be an active participant in the TCC Theatre program (verified in the required letter of recommendation).

Tidewater Area Fleet Manager's Association (TAFMA) Scholarship |
Description:
This scholarship was established in 2010 by the Tidewater Area Fleet Manager’s Association (TAFMA) to support students planning a career in the automotive industry. The funds should be used for tuition, books, equipment, and fees associated with enrollment in the Automotive Technology Associate of Applied Science, Automotive Career Studies Certificates and/or Diesel Career Studies Certificate Program. |
Criteria:
• Student must be a resident of the state of Virginia.
• Student must be enrolled full-time unless the student has already completed first year general education requirements, then part time students may be eligible.
• Student must be enrolled the Automotive Technology Associate of Applied Science, Automotive Career Studies Certificates, and/or a Diesel Career Studies Certificate Program.
• Continuing students must maintain a 2.0 or hither GPA. High school students must have a minimum 2.0 GPA or higher on a 4.0 grading system.
• Students having demonstrated automotive technology ability through previously successful completion of high school automotive technology class will receive preference. A high school transcript is required.
• A scholarship candidate who graduated from high school more than five years ago, or received a GED, may be awarded the scholarship. In this case, the recipient is not required to present a 2.0 GPA.
• Student must have not yet met the cost of attendance for the year.
• Student must enter the program with and maintain a good driving record. Student may be required to submit his or her DMV driving record.
• Student must plan on a career as an automotive technician.
• Student must agree to employment with a TAFMA member at the prevailing rate, if offered following graduation. This employment agreement will be on a "one-for-one" basis. For each full academic year of assistance, the recipient will agree to work for one full year for a TAFMA member. In the event this recipient fails to meet this requirement, or if the recipient fails to complete the requirements for the AAS degree or Career Studies Certificate, the recipient agrees to repay Tidewater Community College Educational Foundation the full amount received from this scholarship. Upon receipt of the scholarship, the recipient will meet with the Chesapeake Campus Financial Aid Office to sign an agreement. |
