The Advising/Counseling Team of Tidewater Community College provides quality service to individuals and groups, helping them define and achieve their educational, career, and personal goals, empowering them to contribute as workers and citizens to the vitality of a dynamic community.

Academic Advising Services
Academic Advisors are available to assist you in the development of meaningful educational plans to help you achieve your goals, whether it is to continue your education at a four-year college or university, to prepare for immediate entry into the job market, or to develop skills for career advancement or personal growth. Advisors can assist you with the selection of appropriate courses and teach you about your curriculum reinforcing your self-sufficiency and self-direction.
Counseling Services

Counselors are available to assist you with educational planning, career development, and personal concerns. They can help you explore your interests and identify career and life goals. Counselors can help you address issues related to career indecision, academic difficulty, time management, and other obstacles that may be hindering your academic and personal success. They are an excellent resource to increase your awareness of college support services.

Professional personal counselors are available to assist if you are experiencing personal, educational, interpersonal/relationship, family, social or psychological difficulties. They can refer you to community services if needed.
