This handout offers general guidelines for typical freshman
English 111 research papers. Students must ask their teachers
for the
specific requirements of their assignments, however.
Students should type their papers on one side of the page. Standard
margins are 1" on each side.Margins here have been adjusted
to accommodate annotations (explanatory notes in the margins).
