What do I need to do to get my project started?
First, visit our website and learn all about us! If you are comfortable using the website, there is a convenient “Start a Project” button that you can use. If you need personal contact please call Mary Beth Apperson at 822-1114 or MApperson@tcc.edu to discuss your project and get things rolling.
What is the turnaround time for my copy/print project?
Under normal circumstances, you should expect to make the following time allotments:
Major publications 16 to 20 weeks
Brochures, booklets, newsletters and event programs 6 to 8 weeks
Flyers, forms, certificates, postcards, posters and invitations 4 to 5 weeks
Minor revisions and printing of an existing publication 3 to 4 weeks
Ordering existing products 4 to 5 days
*Review by Visual Communications 3 days
These are general time frames. Please call the manager of Visual Communications to receive an estimated date of completion for your specific project.
Sometimes we can complete your project sooner than expected, but other times we may need to adjust timelines based on the workload in Visual Communications. In some instances, time constraints may make it impossible for us to produce a publication within your time expectations.
*If you opt to manage your project yourself, Visual Communications must review each piece before it is printed. Please allow three working days for editorial review.
What are “existing products”?
Those are items already “exist”, have been printed previously, and can be reprinted upon request. For a complete list of available products, please visit our Existing Products page.
How do I order business cards?
Ordering business cards is easy! Just provide the following information: Your name, title, department or division, street address, phone number, fax number and email. You can fill out an electronic form which can be found on the Visual Communications webpage.
How can I order letterhead and envelopes?
We print letterhead and envelopes for each campus. Other pieces of letterhead approved for printing are District Administration, Workforce Development and Educational Foundation. Please send us your request for the letterhead and envelope for the campus where you are located.
If you want to utilize a letterhead in an electronic communication, templates are available on TCC intranet.
Can I have access to TCC photographs?
Yes! TCC photographs are available to anyone who has a need for them. Please fill out the online request and we will review our archives and do our best to supply the photos you need.
What if I need photos specifically for my project?
Not only can you request images from our photo archive, you can request a photographer to take photos at your event or we can schedule a photo shoot to capture the images requested.
To schedule a photographer for an event, contact the Visual Communications manager. There may be a charge for this service.
I need T-shirts, pens, mugs and other promotional items produced. How do I go about getting these?
Visual Communications can help you find an eVA or SWAM vendor for your project. We can provide you with a list of reliable vendors to choose from. Remember, any TCC artwork provided to a vendor must be approved by Visual Communications.
When you are ready to place your order:
1. Obtain a logo from the official Visual ID Website.
2. Make sure you use an eVa/SWAM vendor.
3. Please use Account code 61215.
4. Send any artwork prepared by you or an outside vendor to Visual Communications for approval.
Are there any restrictions on the size of the materials I can have printed?
Yes. Let’s say you want posters; the standard (and largest) size is 11” x 17”. In some instances, you can request a limited number of larger posters (up to 22” x 28”) that we can produce on a plotter and mount on foam core. Any other non-standard sizes must be produced by an outside vendor and you or your department will be charged for this service.
Flyers are standard letter size. (8.5” x 11”) Flyers can also be sized downwards to 5.5” x 8.5”.
Postcards can be 4.25” x 5.5” or 6” x 8.5”.
