The Autodesk Training Center network is Autodesk's premier channel for delivering technical product training to business and industry professionals. Centers are recognized worldwide as the leading authorities of Autodesk software training, and they share Autodesk's goal of and commitment to improving a customer's on-the-job performance and productivity.
The Tidewater Community College Autodesk Training Center
located on the Portsmouth Campus is an authorized Autodesk Testing
Center and has received numerous awards for training, facilities
and instruction from Autodesk. The
college offers complete training programs for the industry professional. Training
sessions are offered during the day, evenings and weekends. Companies
can work with TCC to arrange customized sessions that cover specific
needs forany number of employees.
SPACER TCC
now offers Autodesk Certification Testing
Autodesk Certification Exam testing is now available at the Tidewater
Community College – Autodesk Training Center located on the
Portsmouth Campus. The Portsmouth Campus was recently named
an Autodesk® Authorized Certification Center. The center will
administer a range of certifications on Autodesk Products including
Associate and Professional Level Certifications. Autodesk, Inc. is
the world leader in 2D and 3D design software for the manufacturing,
building and construction, and media and entertainment markets.
TCC's Authorized Training
Center meets
Autodesk's rigorous standards of excellence for Autodesk
Certification Exam Testing,
and the standards for Program
Certification. The center provides discipline-specific
training for professionals who use design and drafting applications.
SMALL CLASS SIZES
No more than 10 participants per course. Day, evening and weekend courses available.

All instructors are Autodesk Certified.

AutoCAD Level I - CADD 1001
This four-day course builds a solid foundation for the more advanced AutoCAD applications. It is designed to familiarize CAD or computer beginners with: hardware and software operating systems, AutoCAD terminology, and graphical user interface, drawing, editing, layering,
and dimensioning commands. Learn efficient methods for setting up drawings, prototypes, and navigating within the drawing editor.
Prerequisite: It is assumed that students have had some background in drafting or blueprint reading prior to taking this course.

AutoCAD Level II - CADD 1002
This three-day course is a continuation of the introduction course or for those who have taken Level I or have learned the basic skills on the job. Emphasis is on improving efficiency by utilizing the more advanced features and by customizing the interface. Topics include: selection sets, Xrefs, raster images, drafting tools, layouts, Attributes, symbol libraries, file management, advanced dimensioning, system variables, scripts, working in 3-D and more.
Prerequisite: AutoCAD Level I. Textbook included.

Autodesk Inventor Level I - CADD 1003
This course is an introduction to creating 3D solid models with Autodesk Inventor. The course covers the Autodesk Inventor 2008 features used to create, edit, document and print part and assembly files. Students will create a variety of simple and complex parts, generate engineering drawings, create both assemblies and animations using the Inventor software. Classes are small and students receive a great deal of one-on-one instruction from a certified instructor. This class meets for three days.
Who should attend: Drafters, designers and engineers creating and working with 3D mechanical designs
Prerequisite: It is assumed that students have had some background in drafting or blueprint reading prior to taking this course. A basic understanding of a personal computer is helpful.
