Disruptive Behaviors in the Classroom
About the Class
Teachers come to class prepared to share their expertise with students, but often find their students unprepared to learn and themselves unsure as to the best ways to handle disruptive behaviors in their classroom. This workshop will help participants recognize their personal styles in dealing with conflict, at-risk behaviors students demonstrate in class and classroom management techniques that address such behaviors.
Participants will:
- Recognize the main forms of disruptive behaviors in the classroom
- Understand the benefits and challenges of the 5 main peprsonal conflict styles individuals use to deal with conflict
- Recognize the characteristics of "at-risk youth" in their classroom
- Learn classroom management techniques to deal with disruptive behaviors in their classroom
