Tidewater Community College Board
John D. Padgett, Vice Chair of the TCC Board
Letter from the TCC Board Vice Chair
Welcome to Tidewater Community College and to the College Board’s website.
My colleagues and I are privileged to work with the college’s staff, faculty, and administrators in their important mission to serve students in South Hampton Roads. The four cities that Board Members represent are Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Virginia Beach—each contribute uniquely to the college’s work. As noted by President Baehre-Kolovani, TCC was founded on March 8, 1968 as part of the Virginia Community College System and provides open-access higher education and training to people of all ages and backgrounds, helping them to achieve both their individual goals and contribute as citizens and workers to the vitality of our region and an increasingly global community. The college is comprised of four campuses, six Regional Centers, and the Green District Administration Building. Building on its successful past and growing from good to great, the faculty, staff, and students embrace the concept of “One College, One Voice, One Future!”
As we often say at Tidewater Community College, and with good reason: From Here, Go Anywhere.
