President’s Cabinet

The members of the President’s Cabinet, under the leadership of President Dr. Marcia Conston, are responsible for all departments and divisions of the college.


Christopher (Chris) P. Bryant

Vice President for Institutional Advancement

Bryant brings 25 years of leadership experience to TCC as the Vice President of Institutional Advancement and Executive Director of the Educational Foundation.

Bryant provides strategic leadership for TCC’s public relations, communications and marketing, alumni relations and college events and is primarily responsible for designing and implementing TCC’s institutional advancement programs for increasing community involvement, building corporate and foundation relationships, and initiating positive fundraising outcomes. 

Before coming to TCC, Bryant served as the vice president for institutional advancement at Central Virginia Community College (CVCC).  Having been very successful in that position, Bryant was a clear choice to move to TCC to assume this role at a larger institution.  Just before serving at CVCC, Mr. Bryant served as the director of development for Goodwin House, a nonprofit senior living community in Northern Virginia. In that capacity, he managed every aspect of the fundraising program, including annual appeals, direct mailings, mid-level giving, major gifts, capital campaigns, and planned giving.  Prior to his tenure at Goodwin House, Bryant worked as the director of planned giving and major gifts for Capital Caring, as the director of donor relations for Presbyterian Homes and Family Services, and as a district director for the Blue Ridge Mountains Council, Boy Scouts of America.  Bryant is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), a credential that requires extensive training, completion of a written exam, continuing education, and the achievement of ongoing performance standards.

Bryant’s educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in political science from Hampden-Sydney College and a master’s degree in executive leadership and nonprofit management from Liberty University.

Karen Campbell

Vice President for Student Affairs

Dr. Campbell provides college-wide leadership for admissions, recruitment, registration, records, advising, educational accessibility, student success, testing services, student activities, student conduct, career services, Center for Military and Veterans Education (CMVE), Great Expectations, Women’s Center, and Open Door Project. She also oversees Emergency Preparedness and Safety and Security and is responsible for the management and implementation of the college’s quality enhancement plan (QEP).

Dr. Campbell joined TCC in 2005 and has more than 27 years of experience in higher education. Prior to her appointment, Dr. Campbell held several leadership positions at the college. She served as Associate Vice President for Student Affairs, Associate Vice President for Academic and Career Planning and P.A.C.E, and Associate Vice President for Recruitment, Admission, and Enrollment. Before coming to Tidewater Community College, Dr. Campbell spent 12 years working in progressively responsible positions within student affairs at the College of William and Mary, James Madison University, and Emory University.

Dr. Campbell earned her Ph.D. in Higher Education from Old Dominion University, a master’s of education in counseling psychology with a concentration in college student personnel administration from James Madison University, and a bachelor’s of science in business administration from the University of Richmond. In 2011, she received the chancellor’s fellowship and was the recipient of the outstanding doctoral student award in 2013.

She is State Chair of the Board of Directors for the American Council on Education (ACE) Women’s Network of Virginia and has served as a member of this board since 2016.

Art A. Hall

Vice President for Workforce Solutions

Art A. Hall brings 25 years of experience in workforce development, academics, business, law, and finance to TCC. Before coming to TCC, Hall served as the District Director for Center Operations at Alamo Colleges in San Antonio, Texas. Alamo Colleges is the tenth largest community college system in the U.S. and second largest in Texas. Hall managed a large Economic and Workforce Development division across eight centers and played a key role in strategic planning, partnerships, and program development. Art’s extensive background also includes positions such as Dean of Workforce Development and Continuing Education at St. Philip’s College.  

Hall’s professional journey began after earning his Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University, Master of Laws from University of Wales, Doctor of Jurisprudence and Master of Business Administration from Texas Tech University. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a deep understanding of legal complexities, offering guidance in various areas such as corporate law, securities compliance, litigation, real estate transactions, and finance documentation. In addition to his legal acumen, Art has made significant strides in the financial sector. Hall’s financial background includes roles such as Vice President at Popular Securities, Inc., where he provided investment banking services and devised finance management strategies for public entities. His proficiency in financial analysis, risk management, and investment strategies has been instrumental in driving organizational growth and success.  

Art’s combined workforce, higher education, legal, and financial background brought a unique perspective to his public service as a San Antonio City Council Member of District 8. Hall will certainly leverage his expertise to expand Workforce Solutions at TCC and foster economic development. Hall enjoys equestrian eventing, running, golfing, and general aviation, a requisite hobby for maintaining his Private Pilot License. After spending 25 years in San Antonio, Texas, Hall looks forward to planting roots in Hampton Roads with his wife and daughter.

Beth Lunde

Beth Lunde

Associate Vice President for Human Resources

Ms. Lunde is responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction for the college’s human resource management function including planning, integrating, and implementing human resource programs and policies, and talent and leadership development. Her office handles the day-to-day management and strategic planning and initiatives of key human resource functions, including employee recruitment, benefits, position classification, compensation, employee relations, training & development, and HR information systems.

Prior to becoming the Associate Vice President for Human Resources in July 2015, Ms. Lunde served as Assistant Director of Human Resources and seven years as the college’s Benefits Manager. Before coming to TCC, she spent three years as a Human Resources Coordinator for Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools, and ten years working in progressively responsible positions within the Human Resources Department at Trader Publishing Company.

Ms. Lunde earned her master’s degree in education human resource development from The George Washington University and her bachelor’s of business administration in Management from James Madison University. Ms. Lunde is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) by the Human Resource Certification Institute and as a Senior Certified Professional by the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-SCP).

Heather HARDIMAN (MCCRAIG)

Vice President for Administration and Chief Financial Officer

Heather Hardiman (McCraig) provides strategic, college-wide leadership for the functional areas that embrace TCC’s financial units including accounting, budgeting, procurement and materiel management, cash management, student financial aid services, auxiliary services, contract management, and financial reporting for the college’s foundations. Ms. Hardiman (McCraig) also oversees the area of Facilities Planning and Operations for the college encompassing Operations and Maintenance as well as Custodial Services. Ms. Hardiman (McCraig) oversees the college’s facilities master planning along with the bi-annual capital planning process.

Ms. Hardiman (McCraig) joined TCC in 2012. Prior to her appointment, Ms. Hardiman (McCraig) served as the Associate Vice President for Finance and the Director of Financial Systems and Operations with TCC. Ms. Hardiman (McCraig) has twenty-three years of experience with public and private organizations including Marriott International, Hampton Roads Transit, and Amerigroup Corporation.

Ms. Hardiman (McCraig) earned a master’s in accounting and a master’s in information systems from The University of Maryland, University College. She also earned a bachelor’s of science in management accounting from Park University.

Michelle Woodhouse

Michelle W. Woodhouse

Vice President for Academic Affairs & Chief Academic Officer

Michelle W. Woodhouse, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Chief Academic Officer at Tidewater Community College, is known for her student-centered approach to higher education and willingness to guide and mentor TCC students, women, and adults by her ability to create a progressive, positive and supportive environment.

Her education career – encouraged by her parents, who also are educators – began when she returned to her alma mater, Great Bridge High School in Chesapeake. As a teacher, she rose through the teaching and administrative ranks. She transitioned to higher education thanks to a mentor, Dr. Marie V. McDemmond, who named her Norfolk State University’s Director of Continuing Education and Professional Studies at the Virginia Beach Higher Education Center. One of her proudest achievements at NSU was the creation of the Women’s Empowerment Initiative. This annual event encourages and motivates women to succeed in education and career and mental and physical well-being.

Dr. Woodhouse joined TCC in 2006 as Dean of Social Sciences and Public Services at the Portsmouth campus and in 2011 became Provost of the Portsmouth Campus after serving in an interim capacity. She established “Call to Action,” an initiative embracing faculty, students, and staff aimed at student success, engagement, and service. She instituted the Student Ambassador program at the Portsmouth Campus, through which students become representatives of their school and groom the next class of ambassadors. Dr. Woodhouse also implemented the First Year Success Office, which offers counseling and outreach to new students.

Dr. Woodhouse is the recipient of numerous awards, including the TCC Martin Luther King Distinguished Service Award, the Urban League of Hampton Roads Young Professional Legacies’ Silver Star for Education, and the Norfolk State University Women’s Economic Development Center Phenomenal Woman Award. She is also the recipient of the Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast ‘Famous Former’ Award, YWCA Board of Directors Service Award, and the MADD Excellence Award from Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, a Master’s degree in Urban Education from Norfolk State University, and a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.

Dr. Woodhouse gives her time, talent, and energy to numerous civic activities, including the Portsmouth Partnership and Portsmouth Public Schools Foundation Boards. She is a graduate of Lead Hampton Roads Class of 2012 and a former Commissioner for ForKids, Inc.
