TCC Theatre presents “The Water Engine”

Tidewater Community College Theatre launches its production of “The Water Engine” on April 3. The show will debut as the first theatrical offering in the auditorium space in the new Chesapeake Academic Building.

“The Water Engine” by David Mamet is the story of a young inventor, Charles Lang, who has found a way to run an engine on distilled water. Written as a radio play set in the 1930s, the story follows Lang as he battles to get his engine from concept to production. Lang is courted by crooked lawyers attempting to buy the invention from him on behalf of “certain business interests.” Refusing, he is threatened, and when he attempts to give his story to the newspapers, things go awry.

The show includes the following performances:

April 3 – 5 at 8 p.m.
April 6 at 2 p.m.
April 9 – 12 at 8 p.m.

All showings will be held in the multi-purpose space in the new Chesapeake Academic Building. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 students and seniors. Tickets can be purchased at the Chesapeake Campus business office. Reserve tickets by calling 757-822-5219.
