15 TCC faculty recognized for online courses
Faculty recognized were Matthew Watts, Jennifer Hopkins, Tracy Deans, Elizabeth “Scotty” Buchanan, James Hines, Donald Haley, Stephanie Peebles, Paul English, Gerald “Jerry” Mayhew, William Sherrill, Barbara Blake Gonzalez, Debbie Edson, William Clement, Carole Whitener and Joetta Camp.
The QM review program is a process whereby faculty evaluate the design of online courses created by their colleagues. The goal of a peer review is quality enhancement of online education at TCC. Courses reviewed ranged from law enforcement and business to macroeconomics and introduction to psychology
TCC is a leader among those community colleges embracing quality enhancement for online courses. The college has trained more than 500 instructors to help ensure the highest quality online experience for its students, and has a goal of providing professional development for each of the 347 instructors currently teaching online.
The faculty members were recognized by Daniel DeMarte, vice president for academic affairs, and Virginia Zillges, dean of eLearning.
