A new dean joins Portsmouth Campus
Virginia Beach resident Jenefer D. Snyder has been named dean of language, mathematics and sciences at Tidewater Community College. She will begin her tenure on the Portsmouth Campus on June 6. With more than 18 years of progressive leadership experience, Snyder most recently served as interim dean of social sciences and public services at the Virginia Beach Campus. She played a key role in the implementation of the Funeral Service Clinical and Embalming Laboratory.
Prior to that position, Snyder was the program administrator for the TCC Child Development Lab. Under her leadership, the center received a 4-Star rating from the Virginia Star Quality Initiative.
Before joining TCC, Snyder was the GrowSmart Coordinator for the City of Virginia Beach, where she led strategic planning to identify goals and priorities for citywide initiatives to achieve the community’s goals for children birth to age 5.
Snyder holds a master’s of science degree in education with a concentration in early childhood education from Old Dominion University and a bachelor’s of science with a concentration in family and child development from Virginia Tech.
