TCC presents world premiere of Clay Jenkinson’s “Shakespeare: The Magic of the Word”
The world premiere of Clay Jenkinson’s “Shakespeare: The Magic of the Word” debuts at Tidewater Community College’s Roper Performing Arts Center on Sept. 22 at 8 p.m.
For one night only, Jenkinson, the star of the weekly radio program “The Thomas Jefferson Hour,” will celebrate the magical web of words and the meaning in the Bard’s plays and sonnets.
During this one-man program, guests will see that Shakespeare’s work is alive, vibrant, soulful, hilarious and utterly engaging.
“This will be an evening of commentary, laughter and humor,” said Paul Lasakow, executive director of the Roper Center. “Clay will show Shakespeare’s work to be easily accessible and completely timeless.”
To cap off the event, a professional actor will join Jenkinson to fulfill his lifetime dream of playing Hamlet in the iconic graveyard scene.
Tickets are $35 for the general public; $25 for educators (use special discount code or call 757-822-1452); $20 for all students; and $10 for TCC students at the door only.
