Thank you for your interest in the Excellence Institute at TCC. The following questions allow us to get to know you and identify areas of growth.

Selection Criteria: Graduating seniors of Norfolk Public Schools seeking to prepare themselves for their transition to college or into the workforce. If you are unsure about going to college, do not feel ready to start college, or are afraid that your current professional footprint will not help you obtain a career, THIS PROGRAM IS FOR YOU!  

Program Benefits:

•  Individualized personal development. If you don't feel ready, we will help with that
• Career mentorship to help with career selection and motivation
• Connect with working professionals; ranging from government officials to restaurant owners and everything in between. We match your career focus and desires with the people who are doing what you want to do.
•  Hands-on support with the technology that causes most first-year students to struggle. By doing it now, you can skip the technology learning curvy.
• Develop College Algebra and Writing skills (Lit Math & Write Right) to increase your preparation for entry writing and math exams. We make these foundational courses fun and meaningful. We tell you why its needed before we teach you how to apply it. Nothing is done for no reason.
• Obtain high school to college transitional support: FASFA, applications, major selection and more.
• Free meals provided

• Mandatory Orientation Celebration | Monday, July 18th, 2022 @9:00am
• Program Begins | Monday, July 18, 2022 @9:00am (Breakfast & Lunch Served)
• Program Ending Celebration | July 28th, @10:00am (Breakfast & Lunch Served)

Excellence Institute Time Commitment:

• Length of Program | July 18-28, 2022
• Monday through Thursday, 9:00 am to 2:30 pm
