TCC’s Regional Automotive Center awarded $8,000 from Bridgestone

Tidewater Community College’s Regional Automotive Center (RAC) is the recipient of an $8,000 donation from Bridgestone Trust Fund. The funds will be used to provide scholarships for RAC students and new equipment and tools for automotive labs.

“The generosity from companies like Bridgestone/Firestone is what helps to make our program so successful,” said Beno Rubin, director of the Regional Automotive Center. “We are grateful for the continued support.”

In total, the fund has contributed $82,000 to the college since 2004.

“TCC was chosen as a Bridgestone Trust Fund recipient because of the college’s efforts to not only produce high quality technicians, but also better the community we live and work in,” said Eric Dauphin, Chesapeake Area Manager for Bridgestone. “At Bridgestone, our purpose is to be the most trusted provider of automotive care in every neighborhood we serve. We believe a continued relationship with TCC will allow that purpose to be realized in the Hampton Roads area.”
